High Level Political Forum (HLPF)
The High Level Political Forum meetings are about the follow-up and review of the goals in the 2030 Agenda. Its representatives gather annually and each one is encouraged to show the progress that the nation has done regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In SiNUS 2020, this committee will discus specifically the SDG 12 ‘Responsible consumption and production’, which is all about promoting resource efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, providing access to basic services, decent jobs and a better quality of life for all. The consequences of its implementation and achievement affect a variety of areas but most importantly it reduces future economic, environmental and social costs, strengthen economic competitiveness and it can reduce poverty. In a nutshell, discussing the SDG's important to better understand the different ways the societies around the world can be sustainable and thrive and how to apply it in our own daily basis.
